Hearing Aid Fittings and Programming
Despite the advanced design of today’s modern hearing aids, they will need fine tuning and adjusting in order for them to meet your specific hearing needs. A patient’s success with their new devices is largely dependent on their ability to acclimate to them, so we make it a priority to spend time fitting and programming your aids.
During your hearing aid fitting we’ll spend time reviewing how to insert and remove them, as well as how to clean them and change their batteries. Since hearing loss affects each patient differently, the results you’ll experience from a hearing device might also vary. The team at Ears Hearing Health Care will take the time to discuss appropriate expectations for your hearing aids and answer any questions you might have.
We recommend wearing your hearing aids right away but also stress that it will take time to fully adjust to them. Many patients find that it is most comfortable to slowly increase the amount of time they wear them each day. Regular follow-up appointments during your initial adjustment phase are recommended, and at Ears Hearing Health Care our doors are always open. During these visits we will clean your devices and make any adjustments needed.
If you encounter situations where you still aren’t hearing well, write down what happened and let us know so we can reprogram your device. Most importantly, be patient. The time it takes to get your device dialed in and working perfectly for you is worth the few visits it might require.
Hearing Aid Repair
Like any complex electronic device, hearing aids are made up of very small parts that sometimes might need a bit of extra attention and care. Since you rely on your hearing devices to enjoy daily life to its fullest, we place a priority on the efficient and quality repair work needed to get your aids back into top performance. If you have a device that is in need of repair, contact our office. Our knowledgeable team will identify what’s occurring, and can often make repairs directly in the office. With our start-of-the-art tools, we can generally fix your hearing aids in the same day.
Occasionally, hearing aids may require a repair that is more than we can handle on-site. For major repairs like these, we’ll send your hearing aids to their manufacturer for service. In the meantime, our dedicated team will do everything we can to make this process as easy as possible. We’ll discuss your options, keep you updated on timelines, and may offer some loaner hearing aids for the time being. It’s our priority to get you back on the path to better hearing quickly.
